Welcome Message

The Asian Pig Veterinary Society (APVS) was established in 2002. Diseases that threaten livestock management are spreading beyond national borders. The aims are sharing information on common pig production and diseases in Asia and overcoming these challenges together in order to control infectious diseases in the region. Currently consisting of 6 countries and 1 region (China, Korea, Thailand, Philippines, Viet Nam, Taiwan, and Japan), the APVS is governed by a board of directors consisting of swine veterinary associations and researchers from each country.

The APVS is held every odd-numbered year, rotating among the countries that serve on the APVS board of directors. It was confirmed that the 11th APVS meeting (APVS2025) will be held in Japan at the APVS Board of Directors meeting in November 2022.

The 4th APVS was held in Japan in 2009 at the International Congress Center in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, for three days from October 26 to 28, 2009.
A total of 1,214 participants participated from 23 countries and regions, including China, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, and Japan, as well as Germany, Denmark, France, the United States, Australia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

The swine industry continues to be hit hard by many emerging and re-emerging diseases, and we are spending a great deal of effort and to address these issues.
It is time to incorporate a variety of the latest technologies for efficient farm management. At the same time, we need to consider environmentally sustainable management.

At APVS2025, we will not only continue the purpose of the past APVS, but also prepare to make it a meaningful opportunity to share the latest information with as many people involved in swine production as possible.
We look forward to your active cooperation and participation in APVS2025.
